Commem I believe that you are correct about the Columbian. When that one shows up on ebay every once in awhile the mark in the center reminds me of a ladies high heel foot print.

The current Panama Pacific in my set was acquired in January 2102 and is certified at PCGS VG08. It can be seen in the early pages of this long running thread and has defied a downgrade .... until hopefully now. I acquired the following example recently in an ebay auction ... 1915-S Panama Pacific International Exposition Half - AG03 (Raw) The reverse wear does not match the obverse wear condition ... somewhat puzzling to me. In hand I judge to be authentic and free from any abuse that could preclude certification as an 'honest' downgrade. My experience suggest a grade at AG03 when the PCGS wizards render their opinions. That would make this a Pop 2/4 coin ... with 2 certified at the ultimate PO01 grade .... both of which are in the sets of my other friends who share this passion for circulated classic silver commemoratives. Enjoy - David

If Circulated Classic Commems were Morgan dollars they would grade a lot lower.

Reading this post has motivated me to attempt this type set also.. I won't be able to finish it as quickly, but I am excited to get started on it.

Update with a PCGS wizards grade opinion ... 1915-S Panama Pacific International Exposition Half Dollar - PCGS FR02 With some expertise in the series I truly expected AG03 ... but as shared in many of the pages above have come to expect grading variability from the wizards on these seldom seen circulated coins. This Pan-Pac is now Pop 3 at FR02 with 2 outstanding PO01 certified examples lower ... both examples in the sets of friends of mine who are pursuing this same difficult pursuit. Enjoy - David

Congrats on another successful downgrade! That is one worn out coin!
Would enjoying seeing an image of the coin's reverse if you get the chance.
I applaud your continuing efforts to assemble a low ball set, I've enjoyed watching the set grow and "get worse!"

Quote: Would enjoying seeing an image of the coin's reverse Scroll near the top of this page commems and you'll see one. The reverse has a somewhat puzzling wear pattern and was cause for my estimate as AG03.
