jedichef Pillar of the Community United States 781 Posts	Posted 09/25/2011 2:54 pm we use a small fire-proof safe for our important documents, and I keep old notes and gold coins in there. it's primarily for fire safety rather than theft prevention. since we live in an apartment we can't exactly install a floor safe. I keep my coin collection in coin boxes in the linen closet and sets I'm working on are in folders on my bookshelf. for long term safe storage I would use a bank safe deposit box, but since I'm constantly accessing and going through my coins, I leave them as they are. if you want to lock them away and wont need easy immediate access to them, I would suggest a bank safe deposit box or a professionally installed floor safe. wall safes can be much more easily stolen than those permanently anchored to the foundation of your home. nothing will be 100% safe, but 99.9% is pretty good. A fake toilet in a bathroom. 4. A real safe anywhere in the place. Best location is in front of a door. If they can't open the door, all is safe. Report this Post to the Staff
