And if you look at the edge it looks like its been molten. Second coin, What is it? In Krause 1944 Lincoln Cent is Copper-Zinc but this one looks like nickel. any help is appreciated. However, remember that Bronze is composed of mostly Copper, Tin and Zinc. In this case .95% Copper and the rest Tin/Zinc. Bronze itself can and is in many instances composed of numerous other items to make it appear or usable as something else. For coinage Bronze is composed of as noted above. That coin appears normal. 2. Difficult to say about that 1944 Lincoln Cent. They too are made up of the same proportions of metals as the 1906 Indian Head cent so shouldn't really appear as plated unless that is exactly what someone did. In the past many people plate coins for fun with almost anything available. Report this Post to the Staff
