btw, sorry the pics aren't that good - I don't know how some of you can take such great pics - I can't get good detail without getting close enough to blur it.

You could try taking the picture further away then cropping it, its counterintuitive, but it may work.
I'd say:
MS-63 FH, perhaps UNC details on the first one (can't tell) MS-65 FH on the second one MS-64 on the third MS-65 FH on the fourth, maybe even 66, its beautiful

1. unc imp cleaned 2. "" 3. ms-64 4. unc imp cleaned
amazing, I have had prob 20 people knowledgeable in coins look at these and none found any evidence of cleaning. It might be time for me to just get out of the hobby and find something i'd have better luck at.

SECOND got unc improperly cleaned? WHAT? that's ridiculous. They did this same garbage to me with a SLQ that wasnt cleaned...they just look at the muted luster and assume its BECAUSE of 'cleaning' rather than just the way it is.

i hear ya.....believe me, my head almost flew off when I saw the grading. I suspected that the '17 might have been cleaned lightly at some time in it's life but not the others....they all have nice cartwheel luster - even the gold toned '23.
and I'm sick to my stomach over the 28-s, but I'm keeping it anyway. Once again, it's the reason I only buy the high grade ones if they are already slabbed anymore. I bought these in the mid 80's.
now I'm feeling depressed and the only way out is to buy another nice one....oh the stress of coin shopping.

Just sell them raw, sometimes these TPG's are nuts and their opinion isn't worth much. I only use them for authenticity or when price makes a huge difference and I have no other way to get people to accept my grading (which I find very moderate compared to many dealers out there) than putting it in a piece of plastic. They think that 'not blazing luster = old cleaning'. A lot of SLQ's naturally have satin, gentle luster.

NGC is grading coins so hard right now it is not funny. No rhyme or reason to how they determine a cleaning was done to the coin. I have considered only using ANACS or ICG before ever sending anything to NGC and I do have a couple I want sent in.

Very sad. NGC is ruthless, and there is no logic to it. I think they are good for some circ grades, but they seem to be tough on SLQs in any grade.

Just have it authenticated if its a lower grade coin, use ANACS.
