My1995 Civil War Silver Dollar Commemorative Proof came in the mail today. What a great coin. The fields are so perfect and everything is just so good. I tried to take some pictures, but the super reflective proof kept messing up the pictures.
No marks, no hairlines, no imperfections, just very nice.

I posted a link to a picture of one below, except the one I got looks about 100x better. I am very proud of it.

This is a much better commemorative Proof than I expected. The reverse reminds me of some of the early classic commemorative coins.
The obverse DCAM is so nice.

Congratulations on your acquisition. I think the half dollar also has a great design but alas is not silver.

Is it only two modern half commemorative coins that are silver? George Washington and Bill of Rights are the two I know. Are there any others?

The half is very nice. I love the cannon on reverse. The drummer on obverse is very nice also. I bet they look great side by side in the Proof case. I am going to go hunt one up on ebay and post on the WTB here.

Yes those two are the only silver of the modern halves.

I had to add the "1995 "CIVIL WAR BATTLEFIELD" CLAD PROOF COMMEMORATIVE HALF DOLLAR". I felt like I paid way too much for it. But, it looked so good. Plus, they are shipping it priority mail which is a dollar or so more.

We should start a thread on modern commemorative halves. coinnut mentioned it once but did not come through. All should be fairly inexpensive as only two are made of silver.

i have purchased a large quantity of modern 2 coin set commemoratives because I think the half dollar coins are beautiful and get the advantage of having the 1 dollar proof also.
