The wind was taken out of my sails following my first response to this question. Pure and simple MD through out. Punctuated with what appears to be an embarrassed looking
emoji.
The following responses confirmed my suspicions and provided useful information and opinions directed towards my understanding.

In all seriousness, each question asked in this forum is awesome. Whether it's the identification of why not, to coops pics/education, or just plain links to other discussions or seen phes, each provides an educational lesson that is really educational. While, yes some more than others, they each are genuine questions and it's fun to read. Thanks for keeping these discussions going.

Good example of Mechanical Doubling - shelf-like. But more importantly, see the center of the devices? They are narrowed. They lost thickness during the Mechanical Doubling.


True doubling. As Coop always says, focus on the center of the devices and it will be easier to see true doubled dies. The outside edge of the devices might still show MD. It is the spread of the center you're seeking.

I hear you Dowhat... been there...so difficult for beginners to see these subtleties. I have stopped posting anything that doesn't match an already discovered DD. If the markers don't match existing it doesn't fly. I am not equipped yet for good photography and that makes it even harder to show what I think I am seeing. Years from now maybe I will get the hang of it.

You were "seeking opinions" yet didn't like what I said in my reply. I told you the truth, your coin was Machine Doubling. I suggest you become familiar with the minting process, then read past pages here on CCF to find what DDO's look like as well as Machine Doubling (and the differences between the two). Once you master these, you'll find looking up doubled dies within the reference sites to be a breeze. All of this research takes practice, and like anything else, the more you do it, the better you'll get at it.

I've been a member here on CCF for over a decade now, and I'm still learning and trying to help others along the way. Sorry for the bluntness of my reply, but I try to assist as many members as I can, and we have a lot of new collectors who need help as well. And FYI, this: is part of my signature, being one of the few females here in a mostly male dominated field. Think what you like about it, but I like it.
