I also dont care for the Jovita Idar quarter.
I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better? |

The Idar design is creative, though I'd have moved the boilerplate (EPU, etc.) off of her depiction and into the fields. That design effectively attributes the phrases EPU, quarter dollar, and similar to her. After decades of designs, I now long for the simplicity of original heraldic eagle.

Interesting designs. Thank you for sharing.  I am not sure what to think about Jovinta Idar design just yet. I have to admit that the non-conformist rebel in me is a bit intrigued.  However, I can also envision someone seeing <insert your least favourite coin design here> and saying "Hold my beer..."  |

I like the Bessie Coleman and the Edith Kanaka Ole. I'm not crazy about the 25c instead of quarter dollar though, but I guess I can live with it. I only collect the silver proofs, so I'm anxious to see how those two will look. The rest........

Wow, thanks for the info on the candidate coins. It makes their final choice even more troubling. Those are some fine, educational designs for the Idar coin.

I'm in the camp that doesn't like the Jovita Idar design - at all!
I'm not a fan of the current "Word Art" on coins design trend - the US is not the first to issue a coin using it. I find it very distracting and unappealing.
When you consider the relatively small size of the US quarter - the words are going to be small and difficult to read for many.
I also don't think "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the coin's denomination should be blended into her dress with her personal accomplishments. They are not hers alone.

There was actually a candidate design below with the same main design but the USA and E Pluribus Unum was separate but also blended into the dress, yet they didnt chose that one. I guess you can try to look up the ccac meeting notes for that apr 2022 meeting to see if that was discussed. It is possible to contact CCAC if you ever find something like that in advance of their meeting to choose from candidate designs. Members of the CCAC recommend proposed coin and medal designs to the Treasury secretary for final approval. The advisory panel also considers proposed themes for U.S. commemorative coins which you are greatly into as well, and so perhaps they may consider your opinion (should you not wish to apply to fill a CCAC vacancy). @datadragon: The design you've shown would be preferable, but I still don't think much of the "Word Art" approach.
As far as the CCAC goes, thanks for bringing up some of its functional details. I have shared my thoughts with it, on occasion, in the past. I'm glad it's in place - I believe it helps keep the artistic quality of United States coins and medals high,

(click the square on the image to blow it up fullscreen). https://www.usmint.gov/coins/coin-m.../jovita-idar Personally I dont think it looks bad, only that without the added mottos on the blank spaces as in the other proposed design that wasnt used, it looks on first glance more like an obverse design to me than a reverse and a bit out of place when viewing among the other reverses. Looks like the reverse design is from John McGraw, and the other credits for other coins are listed here https://www.usmint.gov/learn/artist...-john-mcgrawI just read the CCAC recommendation and sure seems they are completely on a different level with that design than the comments here @Dearborn: One persons Hurl is another persons Coin of the Year  Quote:

Counting down on the images.
I hate how the denomination is on the second one.
It is Quarter Dollar, not 25¢
What the heck is the fourth one?
It is a jumbled mess.
Please tell me that these are not the final designs.
I am so glad and thankful I am not collecting these.
If that is what will be on the coin it will end a 184 year streak.
The last time 25¢ appeared on a quarter was 1838.
