Quote: We do NOT have any platypus. Nancy however assures me she chases them out of her shoes daily Ouch! Male Platypus have a spur on their back legs that can deliver a very nasty poison that is extremely painful. I'm still trying to get them to 'Stay outa my shoes!' Quote: Quick fact Platypus are solitary animals, meeting briefly to mate or fight over territory or partners. Males have spurs in their upper thighs shaped like a hollow canine tooth to inject venom. Females shed their spurs early, leaving small pits. The venom causes excrutiating pain and swelling in humans, but there are no recorded human deaths from platypus poisoning. One war veteran said the pain he experienced from a platypus envenomation to his hand was worse than the shrapnel wounds he suffered during the war. Even 19 weeks after the envenomation, his hand was aching slightly and was a little swollen.

Freaks of nature! Why would God create a poisonous thorn-bearing, semi-aquatic, egg-laying mammal anyway?
Perhaps it wasn't created by God? Perhaps the platypus is Satan's design? Think about that before you put one in your shoe next time.

Much obliged, Ugly my friend! The 1850 Bank of Upper Canada Penny arrived today. Its the first of its type I have owned. Man what a coin! I like the design of St George slaying the dragon. I think you also opened up a new area of Canadian coin collecting for me
