Sweet! Thanks for the awesome contest Ugly, it was tonnes of fun! And for that last hint as well, I was gonna start saying animals and birds otherwise Would love to get a UK coin, if that is still an option. Will PM the address in a few.

OK, my favourites out the lot and silver dime awards, PM me if you're not already a winner. Best off the wall comments "and the platypus" ... Scurry my friend, we have wolverines, we have polar bears, we have artic foxes and caribou. We do NOT have any platypus. Nancy however assures me she chases them out of her shoes daily. Best three word horror story "Spilled the acetone". Amida17, I almost wept in fear like a little child at those words. Best guesses that missed "with my caliper" Americanmafia... several of his posts were things I considered for the list and did not put on. He had four or five posts like this. On another day he would have won it all. I can't thank you all enough for playing along, it was great fun!

Doesn't everyone have a platypus or two on their desk?
I thoroughly enjoyed reading and participating in this contest.
Thanks Ugly

Harrison, I can't use a loupe because it would have to be custom ground for my severe astigmatism. A standard loupe just doesn't work through glasses like mine. So what I use is a precision lense with three different inserts cut into it. It is round with an oak rim I made myself so I could insert daylight temperature LED lights in it. I always just refer to it as the "magnifier" . It's a comfortable fit for an adult hand.

Quote: We do NOT have any platypus. Nancy however assures me she chases them out of her shoes daily Ouch! Male Platypus have a spur on their back legs that can deliver a very nasty poison that is extremely painful. I'm still trying to get them to 'Stay outa my shoes!' Quote: Quick fact Platypus are solitary animals, meeting briefly to mate or fight over territory or partners. Males have spurs in their upper thighs shaped like a hollow canine tooth to inject venom. Females shed their spurs early, leaving small pits. The venom causes excrutiating pain and swelling in humans, but there are no recorded human deaths from platypus poisoning. One war veteran said the pain he experienced from a platypus envenomation to his hand was worse than the shrapnel wounds he suffered during the war. Even 19 weeks after the envenomation, his hand was aching slightly and was a little swollen.

Freaks of nature! Why would God create a poisonous thorn-bearing, semi-aquatic, egg-laying mammal anyway?
Perhaps it wasn't created by God? Perhaps the platypus is Satan's design? Think about that before you put one in your shoe next time.
