I'm looking for grade & authentication opinions. Weight is 25.8 g and dimensions seem good for the wear. I did compare the weight to others w/ the same wear and weight is within 0.1+/-

I recon it is rubbish and you should send it to me
Seriously tho to my untrained eye it looks genuine and in Aussie grading would get a G grading.
I'm a bit concerned however about the clear " Liberty" when the rest of the coin is sooo worn, any explanation for that

Full Liberty is found on nearly all grades of this coin. It looks genuine from the photos, but considering that this is a key date, a close examination by an expert is needed. Assuming it is real, I would grade it as a G6. The obverse could go VG8, but the reverse is more of a G4 so I netted it out at G6.

Looks authentic and original condition. G-6 condition due to thinning rims. Very nice coin. nlp

To grade it better, you need to mail it to me. I would make sure you got pictures back.

I did some checking on VAM World & all the diagnostics are there. So, I'm off to the dealers for their opinions.
Well, I just came back from 2 local dealers. Both said that is no doubt genuine. They also said that the Grey sheets has it listed $1500-$1800 I didn't even pay close to that. Sometimes I like ebay.

First I want to THANK EVERYONE for their opinions.

THANK YOU EVEVERYONE

I have been quite excited ever since I left the Dealers. I couldn't even wait for Lisa to get home to tell her the news, I called after I left each shop.

The excitement of picking up a major key date is really something. What I really like is the it's the lowest mintage of all Morgans & the highest priced in any grade. THANKS AGAIN!

I've had my 1893-S since 1968 and I will never get it slabbed. I just keep it in a cardboard/mylar stapled 2x2 so I can take it out and look at it once in awhile. It's my favorite coin that I own.
