I have two 1851 gold dollar coins with no mint mark and the 51 in the date is misshapened exactly the same in both coins, I can not load a picture now but are the coins likely fake, I have had them for thirty years?

I will let you know, without a picture we really can't tell.

You can borrow your friends/family members digital camera to take a few pictures. After that you must put them onto your PC to upload them onto a photo hosting website. Then you post them as images in this thread.

1851P (Philadelphia) is one of the most common. If it's a fake the weight will be off - the standard is 1.672 grams so the two together should weigh 3.344 grams or just a little more than a pre 1982 cent (3.11 gm)
