We have inheritted a pile of old coins and when going through them found this one it is a King George V Penny with Patent number 13330/14 does anyone have any idea if it might be worth anything?

Cant quite see why they would put numbers etc on but hey ho I have thousands to go through might be worth something in scrap the weight on them all lol

Depending on where the coins were inherited from, it could have significance. Searching Google Patents brings up a few listings - the owner of the coin could be or could have known the person filing the patent. You never know https://www.google.com/?tbm=pts#new...0/14&tbm=pts

The first one that comes up was filed Aug 19, 1918 by Joseph C. Fields of Western Electric, for "Signaling System".
