Stephen420 Valued Member United States 411 Posts	Posted 08/12/2007 7:15 pm The dealer says XF-AU but his price is significantly less than CoinValues has for EF40. PCGS price guide has EF around the same as he wants for it. I think the deterioration of CENTS on the reverse is a strike issue because CENTS is below that shelf and seems inconsistent with the wear on the rest of the coin. As to LIBERTY on the obverse, that looks more like wear only because from what I've seen, it's a typical place for early wear to occur. But I coUld be wrong. In my experience, the earlier buffs were notorious for poor strikes, and I think that's what is going on with this coin. The ribbons from the Indian's braid look strong and well-defined, and they often show wear early on. So that leads me to believe that the weakness in Liberty is strike related, not wear related.
