philadelphian Pillar of the Community United States 3253 Posts	Posted 12/26/2014 09:33 am So hard to find pictures, but there are evidently variants reading SANTVS MARCVS NORMPE, and SANTVS MARCVS ZVNOS. As well, there are other Schultes jetons bearing a legend HANS SCHULTES ZV NORMPE. So seems we are getting closer to the explanation of NORPED as a very blundered abbreviation for "Nuremberg." Yes, it certainly is Mitchiner#1382, just had a look - but he doesn't explain 'NORPED' either. But he clearly attributes this Jeton with the rosette between Hans and Schultes to Hans Schultes II (master from at least 26/11/1596 to his death in 12/03/1603) Report this Post to the Staff
