Just opened an govt. issued uncirculated roll of 1960D small date Lincoln's and request some feedback/advice on the coin(s). The coin (to me) looks like the small date might be stamped over the large date. I've done a massive search of other pics on Coppercoin.com, numerous reference books, and other web sites but those pics show a much more defined over date stamp. Every coin in the roll looks like the one I've posted here. Comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bill

I have a 60-D small date that looks exactly like that...I set it aside and keep looking at it trying to figure out myself. Those are great pics too ! I probably would have posted mine here if I could get pics that close.

I was leaning towards some Mechanical Doubling when I first saw this coin , but that pointy nine with the flat nine under really got me thinking that I have no idea... Sorry I don't have an answer, I will be very interested in finding out about this myself . I hope it is an overdate- especially for you with a whole roll !

The pics were taken with a Digital Blue QX5 microscope. My better-half gave it to me for Christmas and I've been giving it a workout. So much easier than trying to use a camera, a mag lens and get correct lighting.

The images are of a completely normal 1960D small date cent.
