1980 1c Capped Die? - Coin Community Forum

224 New Member United States 15 Posts	Posted 09/14/2015 1:58 pm Hi all, I have a 1980 Lincoln Cent found coin roll hunting. So I did some research, and I think this is a capped die? I have been coin collecting on and off for about 20 years. I have only started collecting variety and error coins the last two years. So I'm still learning the details. The obverse has a raised rim from the 1-4 position it's kind of hard to tell from the photo. Also both sides are affected. So maybe a lamination issue? On the reverse there is some signs of splitting on the entire rim. It is also slightly smaller then a normal coin. The batteries on my scale are dead so I can't check the weight.
