It has the reverse of a VAM 7, I think, now I'm trying to find what obverse it is. I am pretty sure it is 7, but want to be sure.

VAMing is so fun!

I think you nailed the reverse S/S but check out the VAM66 listing (better close up of the first 1 and 8)for the same obverse die as VAM24 which is the same reverse as 7. I agree with you SSK, VAMming is fun!
