I am not familiar with working with acetone but I would be afraid I would damage the surface of the coin. I'm not sure I would worry about slabbing this coin but thats just my preference. mr merc Valued Member United States 143 Posts	Posted 02/07/2008 10:22 pm Nice F-12. Don't use acetone on this coin. It already looks cleaned. Since I think you may clean it no matter what anyone says here do this, soak the coin in extra virgin olive oil for 2 weeks. Then use a q-tip to lightly remove the old tarnish/dirt. Then wash with a mild liquid soap and distilled water. Rinse with distilled water and then leave in clean distilled water for 24 hours. Remove the coin and pat dry gently with a cotten diaper.
