As a collector I tend to stick with one particular series if at all possible. I'm on the Seated Liberty dimes at the moment and the pickings seem to be sparse for the dates I need. Well, not so much the year as it is in very-fine to au having consistent appearance from 1837-1891. So to avoid losing interest I pondered on a doable, realistic set to complete.

Peace dollars. Surprisingly, collecting for forty-two years, I only have a few dollar coins. Aside from the modern coins. A couple of Morgans. Picked up as a collection for a dime I needed. Any thoughts on my quest to complete a circulate AU to low MS set with equal eye appeal throughout the series? Looking at the prices I should be able to complete it for around $2500.

Make this guy an offer. You'll be done and much less then $2500.

The 28 P and 21 in that ebay listing are decent. Some of the more commoners, not so.

Have fun and take your time. There are a lot of really nice Peace dollars out there and they have been coming way down in price. You should be able to put together a nice looking set of coins.

Should be fairly easy to find your Peace dollars. I collect Morgans and have picked up 10-12 peace in the deals. I have no plans for now to do any Peace dollars so I have placed those in the silver box for now. Maybe when I hit 250 posts someday, I will post some for sale. Good luck!

I have finished a set of Morgans, but still upgrade them.

Peace dollars are a great set to do, pretty short and a nice design.

Thanks all. The series struck me when I hit a wall on the Seated Liberty dimes and since the overall price per coin is down a bit from recent years I think it's good timing. Or so it seems to me.
