It is possible to have a very shallow lamination on the clad layer of a coin, but it looks a lot different. The depth of the area in question is deeper than the clad layer is thick. I also see what looks like damage on the coin. Do you know the weight of the coin? Edit: Is the area of the anomaly raised or incuse.
