Given the small-ish photos posted, I'd say it appears to be a scratch. Any chance you could bet a close-in, sharp shot of the linear feature? Thanks.

Looks like a scratch to me as well. Larger photos would solve the mystery.

Just a scratch. But we call the 'backside' the 'Reverse', The front, or heads side is called the 'Obverse'

Looks like a scratch to me too. @ros. You can see areas on either side of this gouge where the metal has been "smushed up.
