Would this gun metal coin be considered a Black Beauty? It is an S mint

No, just normal tarnishing on a silver War Nickel.

Silver tarnishes. Thus it is that color. How do we know it is a War Nickel? But the Mintmark over the building:

The type 2 are silver on the 1942-1945 nickels. They have a silver melt value for these.

You will see all three mints on these War Nickels. Depending on condition of the coin, they will be either a collectable or a melt value coin.

Just the way the low silver percentage War Nickel tarnishes...crappy toning.
