What Is Wrong With This Jefferson - Coin Community Forum

Figured a corroded spot would be dull and darker. Haven't really looked closely at my collection in a while. I usually just buy and store! Report this Post to the Staff
tights24 Pillar of the Community United States 2254 Posts	Posted 05/07/2009 1:00 pm While I have no first hand experience with trying this, my first thought when looking at the picture was someone holding a soldering iron to it. Especially the fine tips used for small solder cup wiring. Again, I have never tried it so I don't know what the results would be. Is this in a TPG holder? Welcome to the forum! I took it from a proof set myself and put it in a Whitman holder, just in case it was corrosion, so I know that wasn't it. But it'd be interesting to know what a soldering iron would do to a coin.
