The "new" type of modern nickel doubled dies for 2022-2025 have been hurting my brain for a while. I can't seem to get around the corner of seeing them as DDR and not just Die Deterioration Doubling. What is the rimward phenomenon shown on the undersides of USoA, the left side of the building, and the top sides of EPU?
I agree. I keep setting these 2022+ coins aside, but the heap keeps growing. When I look at a nickel like WDDR-005, I just see Die Deterioration, but that is obviously not the pro opinion. And in fairness, the extreme DDD examples I see on 2022+ Denver nickels all have the deterioration flowing inwards towards the building cavity, not outwards to the edge.
Just trying to understand what I'm missing with this sub-category of doubled dies.
