I guy called me to sell some coins and this was in the lot. Said his mother got it out of a box of laundry soap. Pretty neat.  Edited by Forum Mom to add coin type and denomination in title |

They did these for the 1964 Kennedy halves (P and D mint marks). Kind of a neat item and you should keep the cardboard holder even though it's a bit beat up. How much did you pay for that? I've only seen the Kennedy half one at coin shows and one dealer alway asked $50 for it regardless of the silver spot price. |

Not bad at all! The Morgan alone was picked up for close to spot so you did well! :)

Man I sure would love to be able to buy some Morgans for $3 each. That had to have been put together back in the 60's.

I remember talking to an older guy saying he was getting htem as tips when he was a bartender. I really didn;t believe it until I realized they were basically like IKEs/SBA now

I bet the $3 was also inflated, knowing how these giveaways were always marketed.

That is very interesting! That is the first time I have heard of such a thing. But I have not dealt with Morgans for long.

Essentially they were selling morgans worth $1.50 to $2 for $3 or so. Not a bad deal on their end. Inflation calculated out would mean they were paying around $20/ea for said morgans. Not a bad investment when it comes down to it!
