muddler Pillar of the Community United States 7206 Posts	Posted 12/09/2012 11:51 pm You probably have the 2011 9-11 national medal, similar to a silver dollar but does not list a face value, thus a medal not a "coin". The mint has two versions one from Philadelphia and the other from West Point. Which one do you have? Your price is close to retail and is a few $ more than the mint sells them for. The United States Mint did, however, produce a one ounce silver medal in 2011 and they are still for sale on the Mint's website at $67 each. Once shipping is factored into the equation, you paid a dollar or two less to buy it at the store than to order it online. They are one ounce silver, which has a spot price of about $33 per ounce, and many folks like them quite a bit. Report this Post to the Staff
