Would like to pick up a decent one to weigh my eagles and pandas... Any advice on a good option? Are calibration weights necessary? Would like to weigh the occasional bar too up to 10oz or so if possible... Thanks in advance..,

I use an iBalance 201.
It's more than enough precision than you are ever likely to need.
And it comes with a calibration weight.
The downside:
-- Limit is about 6 oz.
-- It's pricy.
At least take a look and maybe consider a used one.

I just received one I'd bought for about $10, from hong kong, but the seller purchased it from a distributor in Germany. measures up to 500g although I don't think that'd be necessary, but the amazing part is it reads to the 100th of a gram quite accurately, with a deviation of anywhere from 0 to 0.05g from repeated weighing of the same coin

Thanks. FYI the scale is 0.01g not 0.001g - still a nice inexpensive 2nd one to have on hand.

isn't 0.01g a hundredth though? yes it is and I don't think i'll ever need another scale. very glad I did some detailed searching on ebay |

Yes. Brain saw "100th" and translated it to 0.001 not 0.01. Gack
