I have the opportunity to buy this half eagle and wondered what you think I should offer for it. He's asking $475 but is open to negotiation.

I don't think $475 is out of the price range, but I would try to buy it at $425-435. Just my opinion.

He did his homework. $475 is about right for previous Heritage sales. Try $425 and settle at $450? Seems fair for both?

I have a 1/10th oz eagle I've been looking to get rid of. I might offer him that plus 275 and see what he says.

If $475 is a recent auction sale, remind the seller about all the auction fees and attempt to negotiate down.

Fair enough! Better than paying $475.

While I've never bought gold that seems like a fair offer to me! I hope it works for you, that's a beautiful coin you're going for!

Good news, I got it for 300 plus by 1/10th! I'm really happy! I'll post pictures when I get it.

How would you grade that deal? Feedback please!

Great, since it looks like he talked you into only paying $300 instead of the $310
