This looks like a strike through grease error to me in front of George Washington's mouth. I found it a couple of weeks ago in pocket change.

I've noticed it on a lot of other coins as well. Don't think strikethru. Just some of the metal peels off when the die lifts.

It looks very much like this picture of a grease strike through on a nickel.

It is a strike through grease error. This is one example and it is extremely common. Still a nice example to keep so you know what to look for on other coins.
