Can't tell if this is PMD, or, an actual VAM-able 1921-P Morgan dollar...you vammers will know!

Interesting. It looks like it could be a die chip. Do you have full obverse and reverse photos to help narrow down the search?

I can't tell from the photo if it recessed, flat or raised.
If recessed, perhaps PMD or grease struck.
If flat, perhaps just a stained.
If raised, I don't recall any 21P with that feature.
