Spanish 1 Real Cob- Need Help With Origin And Date

perdidogringo New Member Colombia 37 Posts	Posted 11/28/2016 12:29 pm Hi All! I found my first 1 real cob on Saturday at this Spanish colonial site. It weighs 3.5 grams. Any feedback on the origin and time period would be appreciated!! I hope the photos are clear enough. If not let me know and I'll take more. Report this Post to the Staff

Pistareen Valued Member United States 309 Posts	Posted 11/29/2016 07:39 am What a great find! It looks to me like Ferdinand VI, a one real cob from the Potosi Mint, now in modern day Bolivia. The date appears to be 1751, although the decades digit could be a slightly different number no later than a "6" which would shift it under Charles III. The pillar and waves checkerboard has a clear denomination, mint mark, and two and a half of the three date digits. The cross side has a clear denomination only. Report this Post to the Staff

perdidogringo New Member Colombia 37 Posts	Posted 12/02/2016 2:24 pm Upon a lot of staring and asking other people, I believe the year is 1757.
