Scanner does not do it justice, It does have breast feathers.

Since I'm still learning, Is there a VAM or something I should be looking for?

Jeffrey, from the pictures I would say yes, Vam2. The III-2-2 high 6 obverse is only shared with 1 other VAM. Vam8 with a high O mintmark. Yours looks upright and well centered, again leading to Vam2. Pictures are very deceiving so don't take this as law. With at least a 10x loupe check the date and mintmark for any doubling. To show how pictures distort, check the smaller picture you posted as a regular date, this looks more like a near date to me. Try to give more info as to oddities you notice on a coin. Happy vamming.

Very Nice 86 O VAM 2 High 6

Here are 2 pics of my 86 O Vam2- (Comparison)
6 is higher than the other numbers. Your coin looks to be in nice condition also!

G'Day all this coin sparked my interest so I looked at my 1886 O in the collection and found that the one I have has a high six in the date also a high slightly to the right doubled MM its a shame that its been cleaned and some nit wit decided to scratch his name on it (graffiti)
regards Harry
