I picked up a 1/20th oz 1991 platinum koala mid last year for AU$65. Granted, it's smaller than a threepence, so you'll probably need a loupe to see that there koala, but it's still there... and a nice addition to my chemical element collection it is, too. It is used as a popular name knowing that it is not a bear(not through ignorance). In the same way the Buffalo nickel is an American Bison, and the Mercury dime is actually Liberty, and the one cent is called a penny. Australian's just need to learn the language, LOL.
