I was wanting to find out what people mean by DOT or NO DOT in the Auctions?

I have a 1920 Penny. It seems to be in fairly good condition and I'm just wondering about how much it is. If I have time later I will take a photo of it and upload it.

The 1920 penny (and 1919 for that matter) has a number of mint marks. Essentially they are in the form of very small dots. The can either have no dot at all, A dot below the bottom scroll on the reserve of the coin, a dot above the bottom scroll, a dot above the top scroll, a dot above the top scroll and below the bottom scroll (I think that is about it).

Coins with a dot above the top scroll are the rarer ones.

These are the best I can do for now. My camera isn't great and I don't have a working scanner.

Welcome Seksee, hope you enjoy your stay with us.

We can usually answer most questions if we have a good descrition and a very good picture. However in this case I agree with lim about the only thing I could sat is that is is a penny.

See if you can get better photos.

If you're camera has a macro setting make sure its on. If not, back the camera up a little at a time until you get it in focus.

I'm going to borrow my friends camera in the next day or so and take some pics. My camera is one of those cheap kodak easy share ones. it's pretty much made for taking photo's of people not detailed small things.
I'll get back to you guys in a couple of days. I also have quite a few coins from other parts of the world. So I'll probably be annoying people in other parts of the forums.

You guys will get sick of me! LOL[:p]
