2015-P Machine Doubling - Horizontal Shifting?

CoffeeTime Valued Member United States 95 Posts	Posted 09/12/2022 12:13 am I'm a bit stumped on the type of Machine Doubling on this 2015-P dime. I got it in change today. It looks like a horizontal shift. There is obvious N shifting of the date, mint, device, Liberty and more on In God We Trust. On the reverse there is more S shifting in all the text and device. The die was just wearing out. ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!! Those little LED lights are pretty harsh and need softening. I just need to make a new diffuser from stuff I have lying about. Report this Post to the Staff

Weakening the obverse and the reverse fields behind the torch. Not a premium for the coin, but the result of the die showing a die event that was rescued. These will be common on this die until it is retired. So many hundreds of thousands of these will be seen from this die pair. Seems like these are seen on more than one die.
