This was listed as a normal 1866 3 cent coin. The die cracks caught my attention first and then I saw the clash and had to have it. I couldn't get the clash to show up well on the full obverse so I added 2 half coin views of that.

Thanks. Will be sitting in acetone for a bit now. It is a later die state than the one shown on Mad Die Clashes. I another one on E-Bay just about identical to mine - cracks and all. They had it listed for $129.

Nice die clash. on the nickel 3¢ pieces and the nickel shield cents clashes were more common for some reason.

Fantastic pick! I feel you have an unlisted clash though. It is most definitely not Tdc-3c-1866-001 as you can see yours is much further east on the reverse. Yours is actually much closer to ADC-3c-1866-01, extremely close, but still slightly different. This would be a nice one to have attributed if and when they will.

ADDED: links for both listings I mentioned.

I found another of these up for auction as a circulated 3 cent piece - clash is even further to the left. It's not a pretty coin though. I am hoping to get it and that it will clean up but I think its stained.
