Back when we had the so called "Carter quarters" or SBA dollars released, everyone who had anything to do with vending hated them. People septn a lot of quarters back then, and would just reach into their pockets, feel a quarter and insert it into the machine. Thus a lot of money was lost as the machine sat for a week idle and jammed instead of making the owner money. We had a dollar coin that could be mistaken as a quarter. Now in 2026, recycling the zombie-eyes presidential coin OBVs, instead of creating something new, puts a sort of twist on that history. Now we will have quarters that could be said to resemble a dollar coin. Of course the impact will be harmless since quarters and even coinage is not used near as much as it was back then.
