got this yesterday at a coinstar machine-- I did read the ID part on a far 6 of a nickel.sorry for bad picture

what do you guys think?

It's an automatic coin counter.. dump in a jar of whatever it counts it up and pays you. The fee is usually 7-9 per cent. The machines often sell gift cards and such as well these days.

no I just picked the name-- I figured it was taken-- when I go to the grocery store I look in the reject bin-- Canadian coins are often rejected so thats where we found this one .

also the guy at the coin store said it was a far 6 also

DBM I live in the boonies in Canada and My local grocery store has a coinstar machine. Don't know if it is labelled with the name coinstar but it is the same machine found in US grocery stores. I dont like paying 9% to use it so I just return my rolls to the bank with no problems.

You do not need more than a regular magnifier to identify tis coin as a far but what I find is helpful is to compare it to another 1926 nickel. Even if it is not a far a 1926 is a great find in a coinstar machine

well I figured someone looked at it and said "canadian nickel who cares" too bad for them-- well it is in a 2X2 in my book now.
