I got this coin a few days ago and it was in a 2x2. I took it out to get some good pic and when I did I noticed dark spots on the edge. Any ideal what they are from? Thanks for looking.

I've seen that before and always chalked it up to toning. At worst, an early stage of corrosion, but I wouldn't worry about it. It's a nice looking coin!

Now that I think about it, I believe that to be a form of album toning that occurs in whitman folders. I've noticed that a lot on silver coins that I've purchased in the old whitmans.
