I went to the Flea Market on Sunday and I got this in my change.
It's on page 105 of The new Charlton 2011 coin book its called the Bare Belly Beaver variety.

1990-BbHow scarce do you think they are.

1990-BbHere's a close up picture of the Belly.

I corrected the spelling I hope

I have a 1990 and 1998 found coin roll hunting. There are also 1974 and 1977 bare bellies. It's caused by die wear or over-polishing of the dies and its not as rare as a '64 extra water line but still quite hard to find:

Thanks for the heads up on the other years malibu, I'll be keeping my eyes open for them as well. I have a few buckets of 5 + 10 coins I haven't spent any from my change since the 70's I have been saving them for variety hunting.

@ littlemoney: unfortunately not, I read about this a few years ago, made a note about it in my spreadsheet, and now I can't find either the reference or the coins and I don't have images

I found a nice 1990 Bare Belly in a roll yesterday. Does anyone know the current catalog value @ EF? I'm just curious - I'm keeping it for my personal collection.

That does not look like a BB to me, but I've been wrong before.

This subject came up in 2008 here:

http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...PIC_ID=37294

I had another look around and found my 1977 bare belly, which is really just a slightly over-polished die:

normal belly 1989 for comparison:

Thanks again for making me re-visit some rolls and flips! I had set aside a few very nice 1990 nickels because they are so difficult to find in roll searching. Lo and behold, the nicest of the bunch (MS63 or higher) is a BB.
