Ok. What are your thoughts on this quarter? Searching the web, I can only come up with broadstrike or capped die.

Looks damaged to me. The obverse setup rim is missing along with the reeding. A capped die would still have it's rim and the devices in the center would be weak. Possible coin altered for jewelry?

I agree with coop's assessment of damage, weigh the coin and I bet it will be a bit light from the removal of the obverse rim.
