I have found about 5 of these with the lettering like this ( accumulations/extra metal ). Is this common and how rare is the bugtail variety of this coin? I appogize for the poor images, I only have an 18-55 mm lens with me and shot in natural light.

From what I know, the accumulated/extra metal is probably due to a deteriorating die.

The bugtail is fairly common, I've seen quite a few. The feature itself is not as distinct or scarce as the '57 bugtail, but I hang on to them nonetheless.
