I'll speak to the 1899 Quarter:
Even if it has been cleaned, for about $6 this was a no-brainer.
You now have a good example of a "fine" coin. Study both the "Liberty"
and the wear on the cheek.
All the letters are nicely visible.
Should you venture into buying more quarters you have a decent bench-mark.
I say you did well.
And the 1930 is a great example as well.

Both worth about 3-4 times what you paid,
so visit the pawn shop frequently

 Nice pick-ups! I would say VF for both (sharp complete LIBERTY on the Barber, the SLQ is a WAG) without having closer images. I would be visiting that pawn shop on a regular basis! Excellent price on them too!  Edited by oih82w8

$6 each is a great deal, both are fine circulated type examples.

The 1899 is above VF, it has a full band I believe.

I would say that the 1899 quarter is VF25 or VF30, depending on whether you think the band under LIBERTY is complete. Great deal for $6!

Until you posted some closer/clearer images, the grading is a WAG (Wild A#@ Guess). I still stand by my VF for both. Really nice buy for a dozen bucks!

Not necessarily a wild guess, sometimes you can grade off bad pictures. It's something that takes a lot of practice though...don't mean this in a condescending way or anything, just speaking of how I often buy on ebay and get a deal. |

VF-25 for the 1899 and VF-35 for the 1930.
