commems CCF Master Historian of USA Commemoratives United States 12330 Posts	Posted 03/13/2012 6:35 pm Since the new portrait is on the commemorative side (reverse), I don't believe it needs to adhere to the traditional rules regarding the facing direction of the monarch's portrait. I'm guessing it also makes it clear which side is to be considered the obverse and which the reverse. Collecting history one coin or medal at a time! (c) commems. All rights reserved.
