This coin arrived today--it's a nice surprise when it looks better than a seller's pics. I've always considered a coin this size to be on the small side, but the relief of Greek coins really gives them presence. I bought this coin for the portrait. Despite a little roughness, it's one of the better examples I've seen.

Nice coin. Is it pretty thick? At 18mm, being over 5 grams you'd suspect it would be. Unless it is not bronze, but silver? Just curious.

DVC: You're making me want to collect Greek coins now. STOP! I already collect enough Roman coins.

Very nice coin with great details.

Thanks! Yes, it's about 2.5 times the thickness of a US cent, with a nice bronze patina.
Thanks JW! Yeah--these Greek coins are addicting. I got this one from Denant on eBay--I'm very happy with the whole group that arrived today.

Great coin DV! A lot of these are so worn that its hard to see the rider on the back clearly. Yours shows quite clearly! And the obverse has great detail!

I definitely want to get one of these!

Poor man's gold stater for Philip 11, probably better value for money as well, certainly less risk for fakes.
This one is better than mine, and a pleasing coin.

Thanks for all your feedback!
Yes, it was considerably less than a stater--I paid all of $40.
