I try to write down at the end of each day what I spent and where I spent them. Sometimes I forget exactly what and where, and I don't count them if I am not sure. Sometimes when I see a new teller at a bank, I suggest that they give the dollar coins out as change instead of $1 bills. Most think it is a good idea. But I wonder if they really do it.
Over the past week or so, I spent at various places 13 dollar coins (mostly from a new roll of Garfields) and 12 half dollars. This is $19 total.

$2 Sacagawea toward lunch yesterday, $3 (two Sacagawea and two halves) for a decaf coffee as me and a friend, who likes to razz me on my "strange coinage", hung out. The casheir wo took them said they reminded her of Europe.

Went out for breakfast and left four dollar coins (I forgot to check what kind) and four Kennedy's for a tip. $70,312.50 to go I also got a nice birthday present from my mom (there were actually 9 rolls but I already went through one):  It's definitely going to take me a while to spend anything I don't keep so this saves some trips to the bank. |
