Last night at work I took in four two-dollar bills (irrelevant, but since this is my new store, I might as well provide stats) and $3 in halves. No silver, but I did get a very pretty 1971 and a Bicen, then handed out the rest as change along with the two dollar coins that were in my drawer when I got there.
So, $4 total which makes our new total $89 106.50!

Handed out eight. Had to hand one out twice because the guy literally flicked it back at me and said "I want a real dollar." So I pulled out a dollar bill, flicked it back at him, and said "Did you know about 70% of US bill currency has been tested to have fecal matter on it, and 92% of the ones in LA tested positive for cocaine?" Let him chew that over while he put it in his wallet. (Hey, if you wanna be rude and flick coins at me, I can be rude back.) That was the only sourpuss, though--a lot of folks barely noticed, and I got two "hey--cool!"s out of people.

Three more at the coin store. Took the manager a half a second to remember that the SBAs I handed him were dollars while he was counting my payment.

I spent 4 half dollars and 3 dollar coins at the National Money Show in Dallas this weekend. Of course, no one was really surprised. I even got an SBA as change from one dealer! 5 dollars total $88,966 to go! |

Nina, I love your stories. If I worked retail, I would definitely be handing these out. I love to see peoples reactions.
I spent 3 sacs at Rite Aid for junk food, then 3 sacs at the grocery store for fruit. I have to balance it somewhere.

Spent eight 1979-P SBA's and a 2012-P Harrison (my first 2012 dollar I found in circulation, I know they were not intended to be circulated), I found in the wild on groceries, for a total of nine. $88,931 |
