*sigh* FadeToBlack, such large drops are bound to just wind back up at a bank with little chance of being given as change. Anyway, Sacagaweas spent: $1 to a gallery donation box, $1 in a vending machine, $7 total for lunch and tip to the bar tender. $9 spent $89,204 to go, I guess.

Handed out two at work. Also had a lady cheerfully hand me an SBA for coffee--I didn't get to hand it back out, but I thought y'all might like to know there ARE folks who are happily using these. $89 158! A tip: I've noticed that when people give dollar coins a funny look, it helps to immediately say "Yes, that's a real US dollar. It's a [SBA, Sac, Presidential honorary series] coin." I also share the stat I saw on this forum about how much money the Fed would save if we switched to a coin and a $2 bill system--most people are then very happy to take the coin and spend it elsewhere, since I've shown them that they're actually in a small way helping to lower our debt by doing so (if there's demand, they'll make them again, etc.).

Argentum, I realize this, but I really don't care... I move through $10k in halves a week, and usually around $500 in Ikes. Banks start to get a little tired of seeing you there every other day with bags of coin... it's nice to give them a break once in a while.
