hi all I was going through my coins the other day and noticed that on the back of 3 out of 4 $1 coins in my 2004 proof sets had a weird stain on the back and I was wondering if any1 else has seen anything like that

There is another thread which discusses this issue and it seems quite common.

Just how many of these things do you have? If it were me I would be cracking open the ones that arent tarnished and putting them aside so they dont get ruined. In the future unstained 2004 $1 could be hard to come by because so many were left in the packaging.
