How Does Coin Color Effect Grade For 1918/17 (Mine Is Dark)

The coin is probably around F details, but has the look of being cleaned. Unfortunately, the pictures aren't good enough to say for certain. Still a tough coin! Report this Post to the Staff

I don't know that it's necessary to send to a grading company; this one I might keep raw. That's a great find you have there! Report this Post to the Staff

biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 05/29/2012 6:06 pm The darkness is most likely due to this coin being a ground/metal detector find and it could have possible corrosion/porosity issues that will cause it to no-grade at PCGS. Report this Post to the Staff
